Mozilla has released the latest version of its web browser, Firefox, to the public. In this latest release, Firefox now comes with tracking protection to help you stop those trackers from listening in on what you are doing and where you are going on your computer.
The new tracking protection features are an essential part of this latest version and have the ability to help you keep your browsing history private by stopping all the tracking programs from listening in on where you go and what web searches you are doing. At the same time the software will also purge your system and browser of many ads resulting in a much faster browsing experience.
Nick Nguyen, vice president at Mozilla, was quick to point out that none of the competing browsers including Google Chrome, Safari from Apple, and Microsoft Edge offer this same level of privacy.
“With the release of Tracking Protection in Firefox Private Browsing we are leading the industry by giving you control over the data that third parties receive from you online,” he said.
While this is definitely the highlight of the latest release, there is more to Firefox 42 than just tracking protection. In this latest version, the interface has been simplified with all the controls for the new features placed inside the Control Center. Tabs in your browser with audio will now have an icon displaying it so you can hunt down the offending tab much more easily and the develop edition even comes with Animation Tools to help developers.
There have even been parental control tweaks to the Android version of the browser, making it easier for parents to control what their kids can and cannot see on the Internet.
Firefox 42 is available as a free update from the Mozilla website or through your currently installed Firefox browser on computers that run PC, Mac and Linux.
