Samsung is known to bring out special themed-editions for various occasions. Last year, it was the Iron Man Edition of the Galaxy S6 Edge and not so long ago, Batman ‘Injustice Edition’ of the Galaxy S7 Edge was released.

The upcoming Summer Olympics 2016 forms the basis for the next special edition and understandably so, as Samsung is the worldwide sponsor for the Rio Olympics.

Galaxy S7 Edge Olympics Theme

The Olympic-themed Galaxy S7 Edge looks no different from the regular black Galaxy S7 Edge, with the only difference being in the accent details.

As you know, the primary symbol of the Olympic Games consists of five interlocking rings in colors – blue, yellow, black, green and red. They are known as the ‘Olympic rings.’

The leaked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge images show the use of black for chassis, and the four remaining colors – blue, yellow, green and red – are also seen on the device.

The limited edition features yellow on the home button. The power button is red. The volume buttons are green. The rear camera has a blue outline, along with the Olympic rings logo near the bottom.

Just like the other themed editions from Samsung, we expect to find Olympic colors and designs in themes, wallpapers and even apps to keep you updated on the latest developments from the Olympic games.

Other than that, the rest of the phone is no different than the standard standard Galaxy S7 Edge.

The previous special Batman edition came bundled with Samsung’s Gear VR headset. We have no idea if the same holds true with the Olympic-themed Galaxy S7 Edge, or there may be some other interesting goodies thrown in.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition hasn’t been officially unveiled yet.

Summer Olympics 2016 will start on August 5 in Rio de Janeiro. We expect it will be announced as the opening ceremony of 2016 Summer Games draws closer.

Of course, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition will be on sale by the time the Olympic cauldron is lit. Price is not known, but being a special edition, it is expected to be pricey.
