The Honor V8, the latest flagship from Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor, was launched in China recently and features a 5.7 inch display, dual cameras, and more.

Lately, the Honor smartphones have been doing pretty well around the world. They feature good hardware, decent build quality, and are very well priced. Same is the case with the new V8, which offers high-end specs for mid-range money.

The handset has been leaked several times in the recent weeks. One of the most talked about feature on the new V8 is the dual camera setup. Huawei recently launched the P9 with a dual camera setup featuring LEICA lenses. The Honor V8, however, doesn’t carry the LEICA branding.

Honor V8 Specs

The Honor V8 is a flagship smartphone, therefore, you can expect high-end hardware, which is what you get.

The smartphone comes with a 5.7 inch display in Full HD or Quad HD modes, depending on your choice. If you want the 5.7 inch Full HD display, you’ll have to choose the 32GB model. Want the 5.7 inch Quad HD variant, then you must choose the 64GB one. Internal storage is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

The V8 features an octa-core Kirin 950 SoC, which has 4 Cortex A72 cores running at 2.5GHz and another 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. For graphics, the chip features the Mali T880 GPU. To keep the apps and software running smoothly, the phone also features 4GB of RAM.

In the camera department, like we mentioned before, there’s a dual 12 megapixel camera setup at the back with dual-tone LED flash, laser autofocus, and f/2.2 aperture. The front camera for selfies and Snapchat face swaps is an 8 megapixel unit.

Honor V8 Price

A fingerprint sensor is placed below the camera unit at the back. Honor has included a decent 3500mAh battery to help power everything on board the V8. It supports fast charging.

Apart from those main hardware specs, the V8 features dual-SIM via a hybrid try, has 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, an Infrared emitter, Wi-Fi 802,11ac, a 3.5mm headphone port, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

Comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but with the EMUI 4.1 interface. The V8 will be available in the following colors; Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, Platinum Gold and Glacier Silver.

Honor V8 Price and Availability

Honor has priced the device quite well, with the base mode featuring a FullHD display, 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage starting at CNY 2,299, which is about $350. Below are the pricing for the other models;

You can register for the smartphone on Vmall and JD.com, which are China based online stores. The first flash sale of the smartphone will take place on May 17. Global availability of the smartphone isn’t known as of now.
