John McAfee, the founder of world renowned McAfee antivirus software, vowed last year to release something that would defeat the NSA spying. Rather than some new antivirus software to pick up on the NSA malware and trojans, McAfee’s company Future Tense Systems (FTC) and Etransfr have developed an application.
The CHADDER app which, like BBM, will keep your communications under wraps so that only the intended recipient gets to read the message.
“CHADDER is an unprecedented messaging platform. We have developed this highly secure system with an extraordinary team of developers at the prestigious RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology),” said John McAfee.
Much like BBM and BlackBerry’s access to it’s data McAfee says, “CHADDER is a fun and easy to use messaging APP that happens to keep your communications private. So private that we can’t see it ourselves.”
McAfee and companies are at a race to get CHADDER cross-platform and compete with BBM. CHADDER is currently available on Android and Windows Phone, with iOS version on the way.
What impact, if any, do you think McAfee’s new secure messaging app will have on BBM marketshare? Let us know in the comments.
