If you’re on a legacy BlackBerry device in the Canadian or Asian Pacific regions, you are probably experiencing issues with BIS. Unfortunately, it seems there is an ongoing outage in these two specific areas of the world that is affecting BlackBerry OS owners. Users experiencing this outage are unable to send BBMs, emails or access the web on their devices. Thankfully, the lack of BIS on BlackBerry 10 has prevented the outage from extending to any devices released these last two years.

BlackBerry has issued the statement below regarding the outage:

“We can confirm that a service issue is impacting some users in Canada and the Asia Pacific region. Our technical team has identified the potential cause of the issue and has reduced its impact on customers’ service. The team will continue to work towards a full resolution as quickly as possible.  We apologize to any customers who may be affected by this issue.”
