Should it Matter if Alicia Keys Openly Used an iPhone?

There has been a bit of a media fluster over an incident that occurred with BlackBerry’s new Global Creative Director, Alicia Keys. According to Keys, her Twitter account was hacked.

But having her account hacked wasn’t the biggest news. Twitter followers caught one of her tweets as being sent from an iPhone. This comes after Keys was crowned the Global Creative Director at the BlackBerry 10 launch event in NYC.

Keys came under fire that same day from BlackBerry users when her Twitter account tweeted photos from Instagram (an app BlackBerry users have yet to enjoy).

However, what hasn’t been taken into account are the social media teams celebrities hire to manage their accounts. When a celeb doesn’t have the time or personal willingness to deal with fans they hire a PR team to do it for them.

We’ve heard this may have been the case in this incident. Perhaps, it was a simple mistake by one of the team members managing Alicia Keys account.

But all of this begs the question: should it matter if Alicia Keys openly used an iPhone? Or, should she be all BlackBerry all the time and nothing less? Sound off in the comments Team BlackBerry and let us know your thoughts on the matter.
