Xiaomi has started to deliver the MIUI 7.2 ROM for certain devices in China and it includes new features, optimizations and other improvements.

The stable version of MIUI 7.2 ROM China build is currently rolling out to the following devices: Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 4S, Mi Note Pro, Mi 4c, Mi Pad 1, Redmi Note 4G (Single SIM), and Redmi 1S.

The next round of devices, which include; Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 2/2S, Mi Pad 2, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2,Redmi Note 4G (Dual SIM), Redmi Note 3G, Redmi 2A, and Redmi 2, will start receiving the update on March 9th.

MIUI 7.2 ROM will be delivered over the air via the Updater app, so make sure you’re connected to WiFi when updating.

The most important new features in MIUI 7.2 is the ability to easily move files to a new Mi device with the Mi Mover app, an improved Find device app, and a customizable Wallpaper Carousel. The update also includes improvements to Lockscreen, Status Bar, Notifications bar, and Home screen animations.

Apps such as Music, Backup, Weather, File Explorer, Cleaner, Mi Drop and Mi Cloud, have also been updated with bug fixes and optimizations. For the complete changelog, go here. It isn’t known if the new version is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or not.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is the only device, which was announced recently, to come with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The update is currently only rolling out in China, but Xiaomi has promised that a global rollout of MIUI 7.2 ROM will happen soon. If you haven’t received the update notification on your device yet, you can head over to the MIUI page and download the respective ROM for your device. Again, these ROMS are for the Chinese handsets only, so do not flash it on your international version. We will let you know when the global roll-out of the ROM begins.
