Back in March of this year, we gave you an exclusive look at the Mobile HotSpot feature that was to be bundled in OS 6.1. As previously mentioned, you will be able to connect up to 5 devices at one time. You can have it auto-shutdown after 10min of user inactivity (to save battery) or set the time yourself. You will have limited Bluetooth functionality and you won’t be able to connect to WiFi during your Mobile HotSpot connection.
The update to the Mobile HotSpot feature was later pushed for OS7, but subsequently never released. Then we learned the HotSpot feature will likely release on OS 7.1, which is scheduled for select BlackBerry devices. Now, we get a new look at the feature in what are reportedly screenshots of the HotSpot feature from a Torch 9810. OS 7.1 and the Mobile HotSpot features are expected to release sometime before the year ends. Are you excited to finally get HotSpot functionality on your BlackBerry?
