Not even a month ago we brought you a video look at the beta 3 built of MockIt! Since, the developer has been hard at work adding in more polish and making the application even more feature rich. This 4th release for testers in BlackBerry Beta Zone unlocks the third section of the applications which brings photo frames. As well, there are 4 sticker packs which can be utilized within your photo collages to add a personal touch to your creations.

The application is progressing nicely and there are a lot of ways you can use this application. Users will find that they can create a mock, and in turn share the image back into MockIt for even more editing. There are fine controls for sticker placement as well as drag and drop support. You may also notice the super-clean start-up animation as the sub-menus push aside the splash screen. John from the BlackBerry World Beta Zone Team send out this memo alongside the announcement:

What’s new in this version?

Note: Installing Beta 4 will reset your favorites inside MockIt!

Photo Frames! With Beta 4 of MockIt! you can now create collage type images using your own pictures. Users can choose from ‎8 layout templates and use the native BlackBerry 10 photo editor to add effects, add borders, and crop each image. This section will continue to grow as we approach official release.

Also new in this release are stickers that can be applied to your photo frame creations! Currently, there are three collections that each feature a small set of stickers. More stickers and sticker collections  will be added between now and official release. ‎Sticker collections will also be available for purchase in the official release.

The Beta 4 Release also introduces app settings.   In settings users can change the look of the home tiles (to be expanded later)‎, set the default location where they wish to save their creations, reset warnings and prompts, and clear favorites. Settings will be expanded prior to official release.

Using feedback directly from the Beta Zone discussion board, we have also added and/or fixed the following:

  • Added prompts to remind users to save their creations
  • The app no longer dumps background images into your shared file space
  • Device Mock backgrounds, both custom  and pre-loaded, can be edited before each use
  • New Splash screen and launch animation
  • Optimized the meme editor making it easier to use
  • Fixed some typos
  • Made many many other improvements and fixes

Be sure to put your feedback in the discussion boards within the Beta Zone application on through the web-portal. Download some free sticker packs and check out the application for yourself.
