NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat X for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 almost a year ago, and planned to port the game to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, the plans have since changed.
Warner Bros. have confirmed that the plan to port the games has come to an end, after a series of delays.
After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.
Sad news for those who had already placed a pre-order for the game. Nevertheless, customers will be able to get refunded if they contact the retail location they placed the pre-order.
