Time for some fun for space fiends who love everything NASA! Today, the space agency brings its all-purpose NASA app to more users by launching a new version of the app for Apple TV.

NASA’s official app has been around for a while and is very popular with iOS, Android and Fire OS users, who could watch launches and press conferences live. They could even enjoy the latest images from the International Space Station – but the new NASA app for Apple TV is perfect for couch potatoes as you can watch everything NASA offers without the need for your phone.

According to David Weaver, NASA associate administrator for communications: “Now, users with the latest Apple TV can explore and enjoy our remarkable images, videos, mission information, NASA Television and more on the big screen with the whole family,”

Sounds good. So if you’ve never watched any NASA programs, you’d like to know what the NASA app offers.

The NASA app opens an entire world of space exploration with the latest collection of NASA content; including NASA TV, NASA videos-on-demand, news and feature stories, latest tweets, 3D satellite tracking maps, slideshow of more than 15,000 images, High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment on the ISS, real-time views of the Earth from the International Space Station, the Earth as Art galleries, Third Rock Radio and much more.

You can even share what you discover using the NASA app, with your friends on social media, and rate the videos and photos.

How about saving one of those images as a profile picture on your mobile device?

But if you prefer to look at the sky yourself, the app brings you ISS sighting opportunities. It tracks the location of the ISS and other NASA Earth orbiting satellites in real-time and lets you know when the ISS passes over your location.

The beauty of this app is – you get to know what NASA is doing at any point in time. All the information related to current missions and launch information, including countdown clocks are at your disposal.

Mainly, though, imaging switching on your TV to find the live view from the ISS, which is certainly the most surreal experience.

The NASA app is offered completely free for users of Android devices, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Kindle Fire and Apple TV.
