The recently leaked BlackBerry 10.2 OS has proven to have a cache of information. The next series of BlackBerry 10 updates should bring a multitude of new features and refinements.

One of the new features is what’s called “Cardholder”. The image above is of the app’s icon, which was discovered in the BlackBerry 10.2 assets.

The icon bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s Passbook app, which allows users to store their credit cards, flight tickets, movie tickets, and more.

For Apple’s Passbook, “The merchant must create a Passbook-enabled pass or iOS app for the card, ticket, or service to work with Passbook. If you don’t see the option to add a card, ticket, or other service to Passbook, contact the merchant to verify they support Passbook passes.”

It will be quite interesting to see if BlackBerry takes this BlackBerry 10 “Cardholder” app in the same direction as Apple’s Passbook. Nevertheless, this looks like just one more great feature to be anticipating sometime in BlackBerry 10’s future.

Thanks Cam!
