Netflix is about to get a little pricier. The company confirmed via Twitter that starting today their standard, 2-screen plan will be $9.99/month – up $1 from previous pricing. Existing customers will continue paying $8.99/month for another year, but new members will be subject to the new cost right away.
Netflix’s two other plans won’t change in price, however. The base plan – which allows streaming in one screen, and no HD – will stay at $7.99/month. The 4-screen Premium plan will also stay at $11.99/month. Netflix is justifying the price increase because it’s bringing “more great content to users.”
@LaciePassmore So we can brig more great content to users, the price for the 2-stream is going from 8.99- 9.99 for new members.
