Smartwatch maker Olio has raised $10 million to expand the company, bring in new hires and increase their manufacture. They will also be adding new fancy smartwatches to their catalog.
Olio announced back in March their own smartwatch to compete with Android Wear, Apple Watch and others. They built a fancy steel smartwatch running their own unique OS and priced at $565. Now they want to bring new models, including a 24-carat gold smartwatch.
The new models are a $1,395 gold, with gold bracelet and two $1,195 models that will come in yellow and rose gold, with a leather strap. CEO Steve Jacobs says that the piece should last owners a few years before being obsolete, but still useful.
