OxygenOS 2.2.1 Update

OnePlus X users have been asking for an update as well, as the device faced several issues. Most of those issues have been fixed in the new update.

Unfortunately, OxygenOS 2.2.1 is still based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. OnePlus X users will have to wait longer to enjoy the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

The latest OxygenOS 2.2.1 update for OnePlus X brings the following bug fixes and improvements;

  • Fix for data leak while roaming experienced in some regions
  • Fix for microphone being muted when using Google Hangouts
  • Fix for app drawer not launching when Google search bar is hidden

The update also includes the latest Security patch, a GMS 3.0 upgrade and APN support for Tigo carrier. Apart from these, you’ll find general software optimizations and improvements.

If you own the OnePlus X, you should see the new update available as an OTA download in the next few days. Some users have already started to receive the update, if you haven’t received yet, don’t worry, you’ll get the update soon.

Once again, the OnePlus X OxygenOS 2.2.1 update doesn’t really improve the phone performance as much as it fixes bugs. Users did notice better performance, but camera performance in low light still needs to be improved. Few other bugs in Contacts, notification light bug and random vibration during a call is still present.

Those who haven’t received the update yet, don’t worry, the update will come. Meanwhile, you can keep checking for the update manually by heading to Settings>About Phone>Software Update on your device. When you receive the update, make sure you have more than 50 percent charge and are on a WiFi connection, before updating.
