16 Megapixels, an absolutely beautiful design, a perfect amount of storage space and 4GB of RAM for all your smooth, mobile gaming needs. Are you salivating yet? Well, you won’t have to wait too long, the Oppo R9 is coming to you on October 19. That’s just a few days away. The highlight of the smartphone seems to be the camera, which is pretty powerful and a little reminiscent of Nokia’s focus, back in its heyday. Now before we get into the list of specs and features, if you want to spend a little more and get a serviceable boost in specs, the R9 Plus releases alongside it. Here are all the confirmed features:
- 16 Megapixel Camera
- It runs on ColorOS 3.0, an operating system which is based on Android 5.1
- 4GB of RAM
- GPU – Mali T860
- It uses a MediaTek MT6755 Octa-core processor
- It comes with 64 GB of storage.
- It boasts a 1920 x 1080 (full HD) resolution
- It supports HDR (High Dynamic Range)
- The phone’s size is 5.5 inches
That’s all well and good, but how does the phone stack up when compared to more popular rivals such as the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy? From what’s been revealed, it looks set to capture the best qualities of each brand, whilst offering a much more refined and sleeker design, whilst being a considerably more affordable alternative to those two phones. Now the areas in which the phone is mostly limited is with the colors it’s available in: Gold And Rose Gold. Yes, only two options. However, the color of the phone is so subtle that it’s barely noticeable. The phone does support High Dynamic Range, although the front camera does not. But all in all, the phone does seem to hold its own where it counts against its more pricey competition, and it will be coming to a store near you on October 19.
