Pentagon Denies Report Its Abandoning BlackBerry For iOS

Pentagon Denies Report Its Abandoning BlackBerry For iOS

Another day another erroneous report. A so called “well placed” source told Electonista that “the pentagon will drop BlackBerry devices for iOS”  in a story published Wednesday.  The story made its rounds to the usual anti BlackBerry blogs and now the Pentagon has denied that report.

Here is the quote:

“There is no truth to this claim,” says Air Force Lt. Col. Damien Pickart, a spokesman for the Pentagon’s new mobility initiative. “We are not looking to replace those 470,000 BlackBerries with the systems they claim we’re looking to order”

Like I said before, BlackBerry 10 is gaining serious traction and unfortunately this upsets some people. Keep your eyes on the launch of BB10 in the US and expect plenty of more good news.
