With BlackBerry OS 10.1 comes the reintroduction of PIN to PIN messaging. BlackBerry did not include the functionality in the first release of BlackBerry 10.

PIN to PIN messaging has come under certain scrutiny as of late. “PIN-to-PIN messaging bypasses all corporate e-mail security filters, and thus users may become vulnerable to viruses and malware code as well as spam messages if their PIN becomes known to unauthorized third parties,” said a memo from Canadian federal department charged with overseeing cyber-security.

Although, PIN to PIN messaging is still secure, it just bypasses any rules that a BES admin may set. Nonetheless, lets have a look at this simple way of messaging amongst BlackBerry devices:
