QNX, Research In Motion’s new operating system that’s currently in use on the BlackBerry PlayBook, hasn’t had a more formal name. QNX is the name of the original company RIM purchased, and Tablet OS is the more formal terms given when describing the OS for the PlayBook. However, one thing that wasn’t certain is how RIM would market QNX on their upcoming SuperPhones.
A new rumor suggests the QNX operating system for the SuperPhones will be labeled as BlackBerryX or BBX. It is also rumored to get announced at this year’s DevCon set to kickoff in two weeks. BBX sounds like a pretty interesting operating system title. We’ll be at this year’s DevCon to report on any goodies that may come out from the event. Keep it locked to N4BB in the next few weeks for more details on BBX, BlackBerry ‘Colt’, and the future of BlackBerry development.
