We have heard before that RIM and the QNX team were working on ways to allow Android apps to be ported over to the PlayBook. New rumors are suggesting that RIM will choose the Dalvik Java virtual machine as their Java environment for QNX. Dalvik is the same JVM that Google uses for the Android OS.

This would mean that Android apps would be even more easily portable to the QNX operating system. The BlackBerry PlayBook and future QNX-based ‘super phones’ may then be able to run any app you can find on an Android device. Of course, Android app developers will have to tweak the apps settings a bit to move it onto QNX system.

If RIM does decide to allow Android apps on QNX, do you think this could be a good move for the BlackBerry platform?
