Photos of the red BlackBerry Passport have shown up on Vietnamese BlackBerry site BBVietnam. This comes just after after they went up for sale on Amazon. As of now, the red version is sold out on Amazon, but can still be pre-ordered at ShopBlackBerry.com.
The red color is carried along throughout the back of the device, with the metal ridge becoming a black one. The front of the device is has the keyboard in the same red, but with a black bezel surrounding the screen as in the black version. This design choice is similar to what we’ve seen with the white Z10, so as to make the screen appear more vibrant.
While the shipping notices for the ones purchased on Amazon have already been sent out, any of the Passports ordered from ShopBlackBerry will begin to ship on December 7th. The Passport is currently selling for 699$ USD while the black version is at the “Black Friday Promo” price of 599$ USD.
The success of the limited-run black BlackBerry PassPort seems to be repeating itself with the even more limited red version. This comes after BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen announced the red version of the BlackBerry Passport just over two weeks ago.
The red BlackBerry Passport hasn’t been the only limited red device BlackBerry has launched, with the red developer-edition BlackBerry Z10 being offered to developers who initially supported the burgeoning platform.
