Last week we told you about an issue developers were facing with their BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices. Some where, somebody at RIM forgot about the Mayan calendar they created for the Dev Alpha program. That is, many Dev Alpha devices started to ‘end’ their own life cycle.
However, in a forums post, RIM acknowledges it was merely a bug and gives a simple solution. Here’s what RIM states:
The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha reports the following message:
“Thank you for participating! The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device program has ended. For details on what to do next, please visit developer.BlackBerry.com.”
The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha has erroroniously detected that the alpha program has ended.
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to reboot the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha.
Note: Out internal development team is aware of this issue, which will be fixed in a future release of the BlackBerry 10 OS for the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha.
