RIM has announced the setting up of a BlackBerry Innovation Zone in Kerala, which is the first one in the Asia Pacific region. Alec Saunders says RIM will also set up two innovation zones in India this year. Kerala’s innovation zone will showcase BlackBerry’s latest technologies and are going to host developer activities, such as BlackBerry Hackathons and Bar Camps. Once again, RIM seeks to motivate developers by making RIM’s mobile technology more accessible and training young minds with the help of BlackBerry experts. The innovation zone is equipped with full 4 G network, telecom labs, innovation zones, legal and intellectual property services, fully furnished offices and video conference rooms.
