Research In Motion officially confirmed today in a Knowledge Base article that certain devices are experiencing an issue with PIN messages. The problem lies with the PIN messages option not even appearing for some users. However, receiving PIN message, reply to, and forward will still function as per normal.

According to RIM, the problem affects the following devices:

  • BlackBerry ® Torch 9850
  • BlackBerry ® Torch 9810
  • Porsche Design P’9981
The problem appears to be only with OS7 devices. RIM states they currently have no time-frame for a fix. Did you or have you ever used PIN messages? Personally, can’t say I’ve ever used this feature much. Sound off in the comments if you think this feature should be continued or killed off.
