Last year, RIM showed off Quake3 on the BlackBerry PlayBook. They’ve since released the engine port source code for Quake 3 to developers. The Id Tech 3 engine is open source, but the game’s maps are not.
However, you can still take the maps from the original game from a CD or use some of the custom maps available. Devs, read the instructions and files RIM has put on GitHub and get cracking. We’d love to see a Quake 3 port hit the PlayBook soon. View the instructions here.
