A while back we told you about the rumor of a BlackBerry Messenger Music Service. Some new details regarding the service have now emerged. According to CNET, Research In Motion is now securing deals with major music labels for the new service.

According to the report, RIM has already signed a deal with at least one of the top four record companies and is close to signing at least two others. A beta version of the app is said to release within the next few weeks. You could expect to see RIM reach deals with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI Music.

The BBM Music app will allow you to share music with friends, for possibly discovering new favorites. The app is rumored to have a paid subscription of $4.99 per month. If all goes well and RIM releases their own music app, would you subscribe to it?
