Research In Motion is currently under going investigation by litigation company Holzer Holzer & Fistel, LLC. They’re investigating possible federal securities law infractions made by RIM. They will check if statements by RIM made between December 2010 and April 2011 deceptive and deliberately incorrect.
Holzer Holzer & Fistel noted in their press release that, “Specifically, the investigation focuses on, among other things, whether the Company knew but failed to adequately disclose that it was experiencing problems associated with an aging product line which were negatively impacting RIM’s business and margins.” With this news announcement, RIM’s stock has dropped $0.17 (less than 1%). It will be interesting to see how this pans out and what future impact it could have.
