BlackBerry OS in Screenshots

BlackBerry OS in Screenshots

Just recently, an internal build of BlackBerry OS leaked.  If you’re curious about the new OS, but feel that you’re not quite ready to make the jump to an untested build on your Z10, here is a peek at some parts of the operating system that will likely be coming to an official release in the coming months.  Some of the changes and features may already have been in place since earlier builds of OS 10.2.

As we’ve heard before, 10.2 is set to bring a ton of new features for the platform to rival the mobile platforms of Apple and Google.  I’ll guide you through some screenshots of some newer features.

Screen Reader is definitely in beta version.  It just speaks what you press on and what actions your phone is doing.  Three presses of the power button turns it off (cause trust me, you want it off)

We’ve seen multiple alarms before.

Videos can be organized by date and the look is a little more refined.

Screenshots are saved in your personal space, which is just the camera folder on either on the media card or in the device’s camera folder.   The screenshot feature definitely isn’t new, the toast message is.  Also notice the 10.2 loading indicator.  This is BlackBerry World loading.

Large activity indicator in Twitter app.

Word to go formatting menu is a little more refined and organized.

Sheets to go.  Not sure if much is different here.

Pinch gesture option, which still doesn’t work yet in this build.

The Hub.

Wifi menu shows Wi-Fi direct option.  I don’t have any Wi-Fi direct devices set up so it just keeps searching.

App Manager.

Facebook loading up.

Twitter Loading up

What happens when you try to press the “Play on” button during the video chat.

A Video chat screen, notice the top two icons.

Notification settings menu.

The new digital stopwatch.

Contacts settings.

New share menu layout as seen in previous builds of 10.2.

Swipes to the left have an arrow animation.

I hope this provides most of the visual changes that are present in OS 10.2, some of which have arrived in the latest build.  The official version of the 10.2 OS should arrive later on this year, likely with even more features for the BlackBerry 10 platform.  What kind of features do you want to see on the BlackBerry 10 platform?  Let us know in the comment section below!
