ShopSavvy published today on their site some pretty exciting news for us BlackBerry users. Apparently they have been asked a large number of times to make a BlackBerry app but they haven’t, so one of their users, someone in Waterloo, Ontario, seems to have got tired of waiting and instead ran the Android app…on a BlackBerry. Though there is no physical proof,  the logs from ShopSavvy show the following devices ran their app:

  • BlackBerry 8300 ran ShopSavvy on January 31, 2011
  • BlackBerry 8600 ran ShopSavvy on January 17 and 24, 2011
  • BlackBerry 8520 ran ShopSavvy on February 7, 2011

One would think the logs would show newer devices, maybe the Torch or the Bold 9780. Instead, it shows really old BlackBerry devices and I can only think how on earth would they run an Android app? But as weird as this might be, there are rumors of RIM trying to get Android apps to run on the PlayBook so this is good news, seems like the BlackBerry OS can handle it then QNX probably will as well.
