Streemio, Ghana’s first mobile music streaming service, will be going public soon. The new music service should become available to BlackBerry users by the first week in January 2012.

“We’re working to get BB, Android and iPhone up by 1st week of January 2012,” said CEO of Streemio Samuel Owusu Darko. “And it works on a range of Java-enabled devices.”

Streemio boasts some 80,000+ tracks from local and foreign artistes, giving users a large collection from which they can find their favourite songs, create playlists and discover new music.

Streemio has indicated that per the agreement entered into with the Interim Copyright Management Team (ICMT) – a royalty collection body and the Attorney General, Ghanaian artistes whose music are used by listeners will get 10% royalty share of the gross revenue generated by the service.
