Remember when we told you guys T-Mobile saw an increase of 15% in BlackBerry trade-ins over a two week period for their special promotion? Well, apparently that really only benefited T-Mobile. According to, “94% of all the people trading in their BlackBerry phones switched to non-BlackBerry devices.”

Yikes. 94 percent.

While TMoNews’ sources didn’t know exactly how many users that was, it’s obvious there was a good amount as they declared the promotion to be “very successful.” Yeah, again for Magenta.

In retrospect, it kind of explains why T-Mobile was targeting BlackBerry users specifically in the first place. In the end, it really yielded results for them, and not for the Canadian manufacturer. It seems this one will go down as irony at its finest.
