Alicia Keys, BlackBerry’s newly appointed Global Creative Director, was spotted at the NBA All-Star Game dunk contest. This time she wasn’t seen with an iPhone.
No, Alicia was rocking a white BlackBerry Z10, which she used to snap a few photos during the dunk contest. Let’s hope she continues to openly use the Z10 to make Americans excited for its debut.
Research In Motion is an interesting company when it comes to marketing. The only consistent marketing they do for BlackBerry is host events, with most recently the ‘fan nights’. BlackBerry’s only other marketing have been a few TV commercials showing BBM and a few for the PlayBook. We’ve also seen a slew of online banner ad campaigns too.
It appears RIM plans to have BlackBerry sponsor the Clippers and Warriors game on Christmas day. It will be interesting to see what kind of TV commercials (if any) RIM has running for BlackBerry. You can tune in to the game Christmas day at 10:30 EST on ESPN.
