Qualcomm Brings Wireless Charging to Metal Devices

Qualcomm is looking to finally bridge the gap between wireless charging and metallic smartphones and devices. Up until now, you really had to choose between a device with wireless charging capabilities or one with a metal body, but thankfully this will soon be a thing of the past.

Qualcomm’s new WiPower charging technology can power smartphones, tablets and other devices with metal cases, and this standard is already out there for manufacturers and licensees to use.

No word from any OEM as to when we might see the new WiPower tech in play, but hopefully we get some good news over the next months.
