TELUS Offering $75 Trade-in for BlackBerrys if Switching to White Android or iPhone

TELUS has struck up a new marketing ploy to get customers to switch to a white Android or iPhone. If you trade in your old BlackBerry you’ll get a $75 in-store trade-in credit towards a “lighter shade”.

Users are encouraged to switch to Android or iOS, as the fine print states, “While quantities last. Available on the white Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy Ace II X, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. All BlackBerry models except BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry Z10 are eligible.”

TELUS does not have the white BlackBerry Z10 to offer alongside a white Android or iPhone. That color variant is an exclusive of Rogers. It will be interesting to see if TELUS ever gets the white Z10. For now, do you think this is dirty marketing?
