Twitter’s newly named CEO, Jack Dorsey, has announced their plans to lay off up to 336 employees, which is around 8 percent of their task force.
Jack Dorsey, who was made CEO again last week, made the announcement on Twitter saying that these layoffs will help the company “move with greater focus and reinvest in our growth”.
In the letter, Dorsey mentions that Product and Engineering will be seeing the most layoffs and changes, saying he feels they will work and move faster with a smaller team, though it’ll still remain the biggest part of their task force.
It is never good to see people losing their jobs, and though Twitter promises to be generous with exit packages and even help find a new job, it’s never easy. But we all know sometimes these decisions are necessary.
