With the launch of the BlackBerry Z30 the other day the excitement is still high. BlackBerry announced and showed off a white Z30 variant and also let the public know that wireless charging, a feature touted by earlier reports, did make it’s way into production models.
For the Z30 models ( STA100-3 ) wireless charging will be supported making this feature carrier dependent. What’s more, word has it that Verizon Wireless has snagged a wireless charging model exclusively stateside.
If you remember the Z10 debuted with a white variant exclusively on Verizon. A definitive bummer for the rest of us, but perhaps to a competitive advantage for BlackBerry months out.
No word on whether the white model will once again be a carrier exclusive as well, but I’m excited to see if BlackBerry will sell a wireless charging solution alongside some peripheral phablet accessories or leave those users to their own 3rd party mediums.
