BlackBerry debuted their last clamshell smartphone with the Style 9670. The device was a Sprint exclusive and wasn’t necessarily a success to say the least. Though, for those who did pick up the device, it seemed to have a decent following.

There were rumors of a ‘Style 2’ that would feature a touchscreen, but the device never seemed to have seen the light of day. Samsung apparently doesn’t think the clamshell market is dead.

According to Technogasm, Samsung will be releasing a mid-range clamshell device dubbed the ‘Galaxy Folder’. The Galaxy Folder will feature a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch dual-display with 800×480 resolution, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 dual-core chip, 2GB RAM, and a 1820mAh battery.
