A security but was discovered in WhatsApp’s web version client by Isreali-based security company. Said bug could’ve exposed around 200 million users to a malware program.
The bug was reported on August 21st, and WhatsApp says it has already been fixed. It seems the problem was on vCards. A user would download a vCard, which can be sent through WhatsApp web, and this would download a file and run harmful code on the users device.
If you’re a WhatsApp user, and are now constantly using WhatsApp web, then you have nothibng to worry about anymore. But remember to always be cautious of the things you download to your PC or phone.
