Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z5 lineup in just a few days, but a company exec may have just dropped a little too much information ahead of time. A new video (which has now been taken down) shows a member of the Sony French marketing team going over the new devices in very specific detail.
On tap for this launch are three devices: the Xperia Z5, the Z5 Compact and a more high-end Z5 Premium. All three of these devices will be rocking a new 23-megapixel camera with even faster auto-focus, a Snapdragon 810 chip, fingerprint scanner, and will have a water-resistant coating on top.
The biggest unintentional public release was more specifically about the Xperia Z5 Premium. The exec in the video confirmed the rumored 4K resolution display, and added it wouldn’t hinder on battery life either. The Z5 Premium’s display will apparently adjust resolution depending on what you’re watching and only switching to 4K when that content is being viewed. It’ll definitely be interesting to see exactly how this works, but we’ll take his word for it for now.
Sony is expected to announce these new devices in the next few days.
