Charging connectors on mobile devices have pretty much been stuck in two categories – Lightning or microUSB – for a few years. Apple’s MagSafe power cord adaptor is one of my personal favorites, and I’m sure a lot of us out there have wondered how come that hasn’t been made possible on mobile yet. Well, ZNAPS did just that, and made it for not only iPhones, but any device that uses a microUSB port (BlackBerry devices included!).

ZNAPS’ magnetic charging adapter aims to make not just make it easier to charge your device, but also transferring your data. The way it works is pretty simple. You connect one magnetic end to your phone’s charging port, and connect the other magnetic cap on your charger’s end. When both magnetic parts are snapped together, your phone will charge or start transferring data (if you’re connected to a computer). ZNAPS is also waterproof, so if you get a little water on it, it won’t ruin your charger. There’s also a cool little LED light that indicates your phone is charging.

ZNAPS is currently on Kickstarter. They’ve already met their target goal, but with 25 days to go, you still have time to be a backer and get your ZNAPS magnetic connector. The $9USD pledge will get you the connector and adapter (available for lightning or microUSB charging ports). Check out the link below for more.
